摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always perform combustion with optimum conditions, to improve operation efficiency and fuel consumption property and to restrain exhaust of nitrogen oxide and the like. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 3 is capable of supplying two kinds of fuels having different octane numbers in an arbitral mixture ratio and adjusts an intake air temperature. The higher the intake air temperature, the larger the octane numbers of the fuels are arranged and the lower the intake air temperature, the smaller the octane numbers of the fuels are arranged as well as the larger a load, the larger the octane number of the fuels are arranged and the smaller the load, the lower the octane numbers of the fuels are arranged. The two kinds of fuel includes gasoline or naphtha and ethanol, or mixture liquid of water and gasoline or naphtha and ethanol separated from a composite fuel provided by adding water to a composite fuel of gasoline or naphtha and ethanol and mixing it. If remaining quantity of the low octane number fuel is small, the temperature of intake air is elevated or the octane numbers of the fuels are increased.
