PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a natural appearance of a floating island having no sense of incongruity by improving the appearance of a water's edge line so that the outer peripheral edge may be hidden from the water level when the floating island is floated on the water. SOLUTION: This vegetation floating island is provided with a base part 10 so formed that a root of a plant P may be brought up, a covering part 20 for covering and housing the base part 10, and floats 30 for floating the island. The covering part 20 is formed by joining outer edges 21a, 22a of an upper covering member 21 and a lower covering member 22 by using the flexible upper covering member 21 and the lower covering member 22, and the central part side of the upper covering member 21 is expanded and buoyancy of the floats 30 is determined so that the outer peripheral edge 23 may be under the water level WL when floating on the water. The upper covering member 21 is constituted of a breathable plate-shaped material having rigidity and specified thickness such that the outer edge 21a holds the approximately flat surface in the expanded state. |
