PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet rotary electric machine enhancing the cooling performance of a rotary part, while maintaining the efficiency of a motor. SOLUTION: The permanent magnet rotary electric machine comprises a frame 1, brackets 2, 3 attached to both ends of the frame 1, a rotary shaft 6 rotatably supported via bearings 4, 5, a rotor core 7 fitted to the rotary shaft 6 and having a permanent magnet 9 as a magnetic pole, and a stator core 8 provided to the outside of the rotor core 7 and having a coil 10. At least one surface of the frame 1, brackets 2, 3 and the stator core 8, facing the rotor core 7 and receiving the thermal radiation emitted from the rotor core 7 is roughened.
