PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform wireless communication with much more transmission capacitance and much higher transmission definition. SOLUTION: In the wireless receiver, wireless receiving circuits 23a-23d receive radio signals from a wireless transmitter 100 by means of antennas 21a-24d. A controller 20 calculates an eigenvalue in a specific transmission mode scheme of a MIMO communication system on the basis of a wireless reception signal and refers to a threshold table for eigenvalues to control a wireless transmitter 200 so as to select one modulation scheme between 16QAM and 64QAM and to generate a radio signal using the selected modulation scheme. A threshold valueλA2 in switching from 16QAM to QPSK in the threshold table, a threshold valueλB1 in switching from QPSK to 16QAM, a threshold valueλA3 in switching from 64QAM to 16QAM and a threshold valueλB2 in switching from 16QAM to 64QAM are different and ¾λB1-λA2¾ and ¾λB2-λA3¾ are different.
