<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed apparatus capable of preventing a patient from falling down due to the impact of an abrupt stop of a top plate and reducing the mental burden to the patient due to the impact. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The bed apparatus has the top plate on which a subject is mounted, a rotation mechanism for rotating the top plate in a horizontal plane, a speed detector 15 for detecting the rotary speed of the top plate, a brake 12 for stopping the rotation of the top plate, an adjusting mechanism 13 for adjusting the braking force of the brake 12, and a control section 5 for controlling the adjusting mechanism 13 such that the acceleration of the top plate is decreased according to the rotation speed of the top plate detected by the speed detector 15.
