PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display inspecting device for distinguishing a dark spot of an FPD and dust. SOLUTION: The display inspecting device for inspecting a display that color-displays based on brightness which elements develop by keeping a plurality of different primary colors arranged for each pixel includes a moving section 32 with a display 2 and a CCD 31 mounted thereon, for maintaining the position relation between the display 2 and the CCD 31 and moving in the line direction of element arrangement, a transmitting section (a mirror 34 and an unmagnification imaging lens 35) for folding back an image displayed on the display 2 to transmit to the CCD 31, and a controller 33 for determining with a defect point by a foreign material as a defect point when there is a difference in a defect point of an element on the display between an image that an image transmitted by the transmitting section is picked up by the CCD 31 before movement of the moving section 32 and an image that an image transmitted by the transmitting section is picked up by the CCD 31 after movement of the moving section 32.
