A process for making packages, which may be tetrahedral or cubic, from a tube containing the liquid to be packaged, is characterized in that the liquid in the tube has a gas with inert or sterilizing or preserving qualities dispersed within it to form a homogeneous mixture. After cross-welding and separation of the packages from the tube, the gas will separate out from the liquid to form a compressible cushion, thus removing the risk of the package bursting if the liquid is frozen. The gases which may be used are: the rare gases, ethylene oxide, nitrogen, and chlorofluoro compounds of methane or ethane. |
