The sailboard rig for various size sails is based on the conventional arrangement of an un-stayed mast with a universal joint at the foot, a sail with a luff sleeve fitting over the mast and a wishbone boom to which the sail clew is connected. The boom ends fit into a U-socket, (26), in a sail opening; from that a flexible extension (34) runs, long enough to permit hauling the sail taut, through a sleeve to the claw. The extension socket is divergent, with a vertical pin (38); there are trimming lines (42) to the boom.
|
