PURPOSE:To respond immediately to a toner density change of a developer to keep the toner density constant by discharging a part of the developer, which is agitated and carried from a discharge hole provided on a cylindrical shielding body surrounding the first agitating blade by the first agitating blade, to the second agitating blade side on the way of carrying. CONSTITUTION:A supplied toner is led into cylindrical shielding body 19 from its aperture part 19a together with a developer 24 by the rotation of the first spiral blade 18 of a developer agitating device 15 and is agitated and carried in the direction of an arrow A. This agitated and carried toner is discharged gradually from discharge holes 23- on the way of carrying, and the toner is supplied uniformly in the axial direction of the cylindrical shielding body 19 until the toner reaches an aperture part 19b. The boner supplied in this manner is mixed with a developer on the outside of the cylindrical shielding body 19 and is agitated and is supplied to a photosensitive drum 11 by the rotation of the second spiral blade 20. Thus, the toner is supplied quickly when the toner density is reduced, and the developer is agitated and mixed sufficiently to obtain stable and beautiful images. |
