PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable decomposition of various kinds of org. substances including acetaldehyde by using a material subjected to metal ion exchange as the adsorbent in such manner that the metals for ion exchange include at least one metal selected from group 5a, 5b and 8 metals in the periodical table. SOLUTION: The decomposing material for org. substances is equipped with a base body 1 consisting of a fiber product or formed product of glass, metal or the like and with a photocatalyst film 2 formed on the surface of the base body 1. The photocatalyst film 2 contains a decomposing material for org. substances, and the decomposing material for org. substances contains a photocatalyst carried on different metals and an adsorbent. The adsorbent consists of zeolite subjected to metal ion exchange. As for the photocatalyst, for example, Ti, W and Mo can be used. The metals for ion exchange to substitute for a part of hydrogen or sodium in the zeolite are single or compd. metals such as Sb, Pt and Pd selected from groups 5a, 5b and 8 in the periodical table. |
