PURPOSE: To simplify machining operations by providing a driving connection with an engagement part of a large dimensional tolerance, and compensating misalignment between the axes of a sleeve shaft and a turbine driven shaft according to slight adjustments of an upper intermediate shaft. CONSTITUTION: When a direct coupled and speed increasing drive clutch is actuated, a planetary small gear carrier 1/2 is connected to a cylinder hub and an intermediate shaft 228 drivingly connects a turbine driven shaft and a cylinder hub together. The shaft 228 has a connection equipped with a spline 230 of a large dimensional tolerance which meshes with the inner tooth spline of the hub, and a spline 232 at a left end is loosely aligned with the inner tooth spline of a clutch hub 110. Therefore, misalignment of the axes of the turbine driven shaft, a sleeve shaft and further a torque output shaft is compensated by slight adjustments of the upper intermediate shaft 228. Thus, operations such as assembly and machining can be simplified.
