PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a developing device in which uniform and high-quality images having stable and proper charges can be obtd. without irregularity or generation of ghost images. SOLUTION: In this developing device, a developer 504 is carried on a developer carrying body 508, and while a developer thin layer is formed on the developer carrying body, the developer is transferred to a developing zone to develop a latent image on a latent image holding body 501 to visualize the image. In this method, (1) the toner contains a binder resin, a coloring agent and a wax. The binder resin contains a vinyl resin, a polyester resin and a hybrid resin component having a vinyl polymer unit and a polyester unit, and it contains a specified amt. of a component having a compsn. and mol.wt. which can be selectively dissolved in specified plural solvents. (2) The developer carrying body consists of a base body 506 and a resin coating layer 507 containing a binder resin and electrically conductive fine powder formed on the surface of the base body. The coating layer 507 contains a binder resin and electrically conductive spherical particles having 0.3 to 30 μm number average particle size. |
