<p>PURPOSE:To increase response speed from an ON-state to an OFF-state by treating the surface of an oriented film with an org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:An oriented film is formed on a glass substrate, the surface of the film is oriented and the substrate with a formed nonlinear element is immersed in ethanol for about 3 min. By treating the surface of the oriented film with the org. solvent, the electric resistance of the oriented film is changed, electric charges accumulated on image element electrodes escape easily through the oriented film at the time of switching from an ON-state to an OFF-state and response to the OFF-state is accelerated. The response speed of an active matrix type electro-optical device can be remarkably increased.</p> |
