A multi-part hub pan 1 for a clutch disc is produced by a process wherein parts are joined together by a weld, different designs being used depending on the various welding processes. Apertures 7, 8 for damper springs can be punched very exactly in the hub disc owing to the production in individual parts. In fig 1 tubes 9, 10 are welded at 9 to the lateral faces of a disc 4, a space 19a adjacent longitudinal profiles 18a providing a lubricant reservoir. In a modification (Fig 2) the apertures are punched out, the reservoir (22a) is produced during forging, and electron or laser beam welding unites tapered surfaces. (Fig 3) depicts the use of a condenser discharge welding device, welding taking place at a V-shaped rib where the members make contact under axial pressure. <IMAGE> |
