PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which exhibits excellent image conservability, color develpability properties and chemical resistance and further, high manufacturing stability without generation of a texture fogging. SOLUTION: This thermal recording material has a thermal recording layer containing an electron donative colorless dye, an electron acceptive compound represented by the formula, and a polyvinyl alcohol with at most 88% of degree of saponification. In the formula, R represents a 6-20C alkyl group, a 7-25C aralkyl group, a 6-20C aryl group, a 5-20C alkylcarbonyl group, a 7-20C arylcarbonyl group, a 4-20C alkylsulfonyl group, or a 6-20C arylsulfonyl group. |
