PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate clock recovery at a receiver side, or to eliminate the need for clock recovery and to allow an optical radio transmitter-receiver to cope with a plurality of communication standards. SOLUTION: A light emitting element 104 converts a data signal in compliance with the IEEE 1394 and a strobe signal into optical signals, a polarization section 105 is used to apply orthogonal polarization to them and a lens 106 multiplexes the polarized signals. Then the light is transmitted to the free space, a demultiplexer reception section 111 demultiplexes the received signal, a photoelectric conversion section 112 decodes the signal into the data signal and the strobe so as to facilitate clock recovery. |
