PURPOSE:To reduce a speed change shock at the time of down-shift speed change by correcting the starting rotation ratio of engine output changing control according to the actual torque converted characteristic. CONSTITUTION:An engine controller 12 is provided for the engine output changing control of an engine 1. The engine controller 12 receives a throttle opening (TH), the number of revolution (No) of the transmission output shaft, an engine speed (Ne) and a characteristic examination mode shifting signal (CH) from respective sensors and switches to execute a predetermined control program, thereby obtained the torque converter characteristic during a characteristic examination mode period to correct the starting rotation ratio of an engine output changing control which is carried out at the time of the completion of speed change according to the characteristic of the torque converter, so that the speed change shock at the time of down-shift speed change of an automatic transmission may be reduced. |
