PURPOSE: To make it possible to obtain orientation uniform over the entire surface by holding ferroelectric high-polymer liquid crystals between two sheets of separator sheets and subjecting these liquid crystals to orientation treatments to impress electric fields, shearing stresses, etc., thereon in the state. CONSTITUTION: The orientation treatments of a ferroelectric liquid crystal material 3 are executed by applying the electric fields and the shearing stress by bending deformation on a device 6 in the state of holding the ferroelectric high-polymer liquid crystals 3 between two sheets of the separator sheets 4, 4' while impressing voltage thereon. Next, the separator sheets 4, 4' are peeled from the device 6 holding the ferroelectric high-polymer liquid crystals subjected to the orientation treatments with two sheets of the separator sheets 4, 4' and liquid crystal display panel substrates are stuck to both surfaces of the ferroelectric high-polymer liquid crystals 3 exposed after the peeling in such a manner that the transparent electrodes face each other, by which the liquid crystal panel is produced. The polarizing plate is thereafter stuck to the display surface side of the liquid crystal display panel and the reflective plate integral type polarizing plate is stuck to the rear surface side thereof, by which the liquid crystal display device is produced. |
