Control unit pre-programming method especially for VTR timer unit

The methods involves receiving TV signals in a VTR tuner unit. The information which are necessary for the recording of a broadcast, e.g. channel, date, time, and length of a broadcast, are already transmitted previously with a program announcement. The recording information is identified after the reception through the tuner unit, and a programming of the timer unit with the as recording information identified data, is triggered through an entry device. The recording information is preferably transmitted in coded form, and is decoded after the reception through the tuner unit. The programming is preferably triggered over an entry device in a remote control unit.
