Airbag module for motor vehicles

The airbag consists of a long material length with a central and two side sections, and two opposite end sections. The two end sections are connected to each other, and two seams connect central and side sections, so that the airbag is cushion-shaped when inflated. First and second side sections are folded inwards over the central section, and sewn to it by tacking stitches. These are torn-open when a first is applied, which is larger than a preselected force, during inflation of the airbag.
