PURPOSE:To enhance mass production capability by preparing active material paste by mixing active material powder with cadmium oxide, a hydration preventing agent, and water, and filling the active material paste in a metallic porous body having three dimensional continuous pores, then drying end pressing. CONSTITUTION:Active material paste is prepared by mixing active material powder mainly comprising nickel hydroxide with cadmium oxide, a hydration preventing agent for preventing the hydration of cadmium oxide, and water. The active material paste is directly filled in a metallic porous body having three dimensional continuous pores. The active material paste is dried and the porous body is pressed to form an electrode plate. By adding the hydration preventing agent, the hydration of the cadmium oxide in the following process is prevented, and the change of slurry with time is prevented. The surface addition effect of cadmium oxide is sufficiently obtained. The production process of the plate is simplified by only adding the hydration preventing agent. |
