PURPOSE:To obtain a nonaqueous solvent secondary battery having a long charge/discharge cycle lifetime by covering the surface of a negative electrode with a thin layer of the carbon material made of the organic sintered material. CONSTITUTION:Electrode groups 3 are housed in a container 1, and this electrode group 3 is formed in a structure that a zonal material, which consists of a carbon material covered negative electrode 4, a separator 5 and a positive electrode 6 laminated in this order, is turned in a spiral so that the negative electrode 4 is positioned outside. The surface of the negative electrode 4 is covered by a thin layer of the carbon material (especially, the carbon material made of the organic sintered material). consequently, the active material (for example, lithium) of the negative electrode 4 is occluded to the surface of the negative electrode by the thin layer at the time of charge, and the lithium is discharged at the time of discharge to restrain the formation of dendrite of the lithium on the negative electrode. Thereby, a nonaqueous solvent secondary battery having a fine charge/discharge cycle lifetime and a fine storage characteristic and a large battery capacity. |
