POLYMERIZABLE BIARYLS, METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE: Polymerizable biaryls and a method for the production is provided. The biaryls obtained therefrom are suitable for the production of polymers which can be used as electro-luminescent material. CONSTITUTION: A method for the production of polymerizable biaryl derivatives is characterized in that a 6 ring aromatic compound which carries ester or benzylic OH groups in 1.4 position is made to react with a second aromatic compound in a palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction to obtain a biaryl and the ester or benzylic OH groups are transformed into polymerizable groups, optionally in several steps.
