PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming apparatus and an image formation method which restrict effects of output pixel defects of an LED array and reduce maintenance costs or the like of an image-forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A defect-detecting means 4 is set inside or outside an image- forming apparatus 20 which has a write device 28 constituted to include an LED array 1, thereby detecting and characterizing the presence/absence and positions of defective pixels generated in the LED array 1. An output correction is carried out to surrounding pixels or the like of the defective pixels by a defect-correcting means 3 on the basis of the obtained information on defective pixels. Defects of output pixels are accordingly made unnoticeable. With effects of defective pixels being restricted, the image-forming system can be continuously used in a good state even without replacing the LED array 1. |
