A display for displaying a magnified image, comprising a display panel having a predetermined effective display area (PS), a display screen (1105), a first inverting optical system including a first lens array (1103) where first lenses corresponding to the display panel (1102) are arrayed, and a second inverting optical system including a second lens array (1104) where second lenses corresponding to the first lenses are arrayed, which serves as a magnifying optical system composed of channels for forming a magnified erected image of the image displayed on the display panel (1102) on the display screen (1105) by means of the corresponding first and second lenses in such a way that light from each image point is passed through three or more channels.
