Solid titanium-containing catalyst. A solid titanium-containing catalyst used to produce an oxirane compound through reaction of an olefin-type compound with an organic hydroperoxide, where the catalyst can be obtained by at least one method selected from the following methods 1 to 3. 1 a titanium compound is deposited on a silica support which has a mean pore diameter D, measured by a mercury pressure method, of 5 nm or more and which has a pore distribution in which at least 60% of pores by volume comprises pores which have a pore diameter in the range D +- 0.3 D (nm), and is calcined. 2 silica is impregnated in water, then dried, and a titanium compound is deposited on a silica support, then calcined. 3 silica is impregnated with a titanium-containing impregnating solution which satisfies that stated in the following [formula-1], and is calcined A/B <= 0.2 [formula-1] A is the number of moles of titanium metal in the impregnating solution B is the number of moles of silanol groups in the silica. |
