PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion apparatus that reduces random noise and performes high speed reading. SOLUTION: In a photoelectric conversion apparatus in which electric charge transfer means are provided between an output terminal of photoelectric conversion means and an input terminal of amplifier means, and reset means is connected to the input terminal of the amplifier means, after optical signals of the photoelectric conversion means are accumulated, a reference signal held at the input terminal of the amplifier is read out from the output terminal of the amplifier means. Then electric charge transfer means is opened to transfer photoelectric signal charge of photoelectric conversion means to the input terminal of the amplifier means. Then after the electric charge transfer means is closed, the light signal held at the input terminal of the amplifier means is read out from the output terminal of amplifier means as light signal. Then the electric charge transfer means, and reset means are opened to reset the output terminal of the photoelectric conversion means and the input terminal of the amplifier means, and then after the reset means is closed, the electric charge transfer means is closed to perform a next photoelectric signal accumulation.
