PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact packaging box which can be opened easily. SOLUTION: There is provided a packaging box in which a lid plate 9 is overlapped on a flap 8 extended out of a front wall 1, an inserting piece 10 at the extremity end of the lid plate 9 is inserted into an insertion port 12 at the base end segment of the flap 8, a shoulder segment 11 of the inserting piece 10 is engaged with an end edge of the insertion port 12 to attain a sealed state, wherein the insertion port 12 is slit at the extremity end of the flap 8, a width of its slit segment 13 is set to be larger than a width of the shoulder segment, the upper segment of the front wall 1 is provided with a pushing piece 14. When this pushing piece 14 is pushed, the inserting piece 10 is bent rearwardly and released to the slit segment 13 of the insertion port 12 so as to cause the engaged state between the shoulder segment 11 of the inserting piece 10 and the end edge of the insertion port 12 to be disengaged from each other.
