PURPOSE: An optical disk and a disk information recording method of the optical disk are provided to suggest various methods for recording information on various kinds of disks classified according to disk thickness, and to uniformly apply standardized disk information, thereby effectively coping with a recording/reproducing function of an optical disk. CONSTITUTION: Information which distinguishes various kinds of disks is recorded within disk information. The kind of the disks is classified according to disk thickness. The disk thickness is the thickness of an information area of a disk. The thickness of the information area of the disk is discriminated by a step difference between a clamping area and the information area. The disk information is recorded in a pre-recorded area while the disk is manufactured.
