PURPOSE:To test the laser range measuring device accurately by inputting the output of the laser range measuring device to one end of an optical fiber, delaying the incident light in the optical fiber by the required time, and returning the light from the other end of the optical fiber to the laser range measuring device. CONSTITUTION:The large pulse irradiated from a laser oscillator 1 passes a transmitting telescope 3, is converged by a condenser lense 7, passes a filter 8, and enters the optical fiber 9. The pulse outputted from the optical fiber 9 is converged by a condenser lens 10, and enters a receiving telescope 3. The length of the optical fiber 9 is made sufficiently logn. The length of the optical fiber 9 is adjusted so that the delay time t1 corresponding to a range R1 is expressed by t1=2CR1, where C is the light velocity. When the laser range measuring device is operated by using the optical fiber 9 whose length is such that the delay time t1 is obtained, the range R1 is displayed in a range display 6. If the correct range R1 is not displayed in said display 6, it is judged that the laser range measuring device is defective. |
