PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave dissipating block which is constructed so as to be effective at dissipating wave force, and fitted for retaining and regenerating a good fishery environment and a good ecosystem. SOLUTION: The wave dissipating blocks each have a concrete square column shape or a similar shape, and when they are compactly arranged lengthwise and crosswise, a vertical hole is defined at the center of a group of the arranged blocks. The arranged blocks each have horizontal notches in both side surfaces thereof so as to be diagonally opposed to the other notch formed in the adjacent block, whereby a tunnel sequentially communicating with the vertical hole defined by the arranged blocks diagonally faces a shore.
