<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heating efficiency by obtaining the heating only to corner parts of a cast slab, to miniaturize equipment, to obtain cost-down and to prevent the piling of scale dropped from the cast slab. SOLUTION: An upper and a lower heating devices 10A, 10B constituted with an inductor 11, yoke 12 and refractory 13, are disposed so that the inductors 11 are faced to the upper and the lower corner parts 1a of the slab 1 and offset to the outside of the slab 1. The faced surface to the corner part 1a of the heating device 10B at the lower side is formed as a slant face 13a. When current is supplied into the inductor 11, the generated magnetic flux forms magnetic path crossing the corner part 1a to locally heat the corner part 1a. A detached scale from the slab 1 is dropped along the slant face 13a of the heating device 10B at the lower side and is not piled.</p> |
