The crank rods (4,5) are mounted on lifting pins (3) of an engine crankshaft (1) as an adjacent pair, with the outer end faces (14,15) of the crank rods cooperating with support flanges (16,17). The opposite ends (20,21; 22,23) of the bearing bores (24,25) of the crank bearing shells (8,9,10,11) are provided with angled surfaces (26,27,28,29), the angled surfaces adjacent the outer end faces having a different size to the angled surfaces andjacent the inner end faces (12,13).
