SUBSTRATE FOR DIGITAL VERSATILE DISK AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a digital versatile disk having excellent transfer property during injection molding, excellent release property from molding dies, and excellent strength. SOLUTION: This substrate for a digital versatile disk(DVD) is formed from an aromatic polycarbonate resin compsn. containing 14-30C fatty acid monoglyceride by 0.015 to 0.05 wt.%. The aromatic polycarbonate resin has p-cuminylphenoxy groups and/or p-tert-octylphenoxy groups by >=30 mol% in the molecular end groups and has 10,000 to 17,000 viscosity average mol.wt. (Mv). The thickness of the substrate is usually <=0.6 mm.
