FIELD: shipbuilding; manufacture of water-jet propellers for ships. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed water-jet propeller includes water intake and water discharge pipe lines with unit for building-up water pressure in between them; pressure of water is built up due to explosion of combustible mixture in combustion chamber. Proposed propeller is provided with dry combustion chamber connected with water flow part of pressure building-up unit by means of change-over valve having fixed open and closed positions. Propeller may be provided with hose-type or diaphragm-type pumps for preparation of compressed air for combustible mixture making use of associated pulsating pressure of water running in outlet pipe line. Water-discharge part of propeller may be divided into two branches of half power acting alternatively at continuous flow of water in common water intake flow. ^ EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of propeller; reduction of toxic emissions and vibrations; self-delivery of combustible mixture. ^ 4 cl, 2 dwg |
