PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electrode for resistance welding from which cooling water does not leak even to high water pressure at the inside, and which has excellent electrical conductivity and durable security, and in which parts such as a tip chip, an intermediate shank or the like can be easily disassembled/assembled. SOLUTION: In the electrode for resistance welding, a shank 42 is assembled to a holder 1, a tip chip 5 is fitted to the shank, and a circulation pipe for composing a channel performing the feed 12 and the exhaust 13 of cooling water as a circulation channel for performing cooling to the tip chip is provided so as to pierce both the insides of the holder and the shank. The engagement between the holder and the shank is performed with a straight screw 15, and further, in a state where the holder and the shank are engaged and assembled, an abutting face with a required area is provided. Further, each engagement between the holder and a screw adapter and between the shank and the tip chip is performed with a straight screw, and further, in a state where the respective parts are engaged and assembled, each abutting face with a required area is provided.
