PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a clad material and an apparatus therefor which can prevent a brazing filler metal layer from being sepsrated from a base material and can efficiently manufacture the clad material stable in quality. SOLUTION: A slit working means 12 is constituted so that a plurality of projecting bars 13 extebding in an annular manner in the circumferential direction and arranged in the axial direction of a roll 10 are formed at a predetermined spacing on a surface of the roll 10 of a powder pressure bonder 4. A plurality of slits 14 extending in the longitudinal direction of a base material 1 and are arranged in the width direction of the base material 1 at a predetermined spacing are formed in the surface of the brazing filler metal layer.
