COMPOSITION FOR BACTERIALLY MEDIATED GENE SILENCING AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for safely delivering ≥1 small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) to a eukaryotic cell.

SOLUTION: The method for delivering the siRNAs to the eukaryotic cell using bacteria is provided. A method for using the bacteria for modulating gene expression in the eukaryotic cell using RNA interference and a method for treating cancers from cell proliferation disorders are also provided. The bacteria contain ≥1 siRNAs or ≥1 DNA molecules encoding ≥1 siRNAs. A vector used with the bacteria for causing the RNA interference in the eukaryotic cell is also provided by the invention.
