PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a carriage in a stable posture by connecting to a recording means a flexible cable for sending electric signals to drive the recording means, and electric power, and turning the flexible cable over the carriage. SOLUTION: A recording head cartridge 15 including an ink jet recording head 8 as a recording means is loaded to a carriage 7. To the carriage is connected one end of a flexible substrate 16 which is a flexible cable for sending electric signals to drive the ink jet recording head 8, and electric power. The recording head cartridge 15 loaded onto the carriage 7 electrically connects a substrate connected to an electrothermal conversion element as an electrothermal converter of the recording head 8 and, a control substrate of a word processor with each other. The carriage 7 can be maintained in a stable posture by turning the flexible cable 16. |
