A card issuing system using a scan function, and a control method thereof are provided to scan a personal information medium like a certificate of residence and issue a card, thereby shortening a card issue time and latency time and making the card issue process convenient. A scanner unit(22) scans personal information media in which a photograph or personal information is printed. A signal processing unit(21) reads the video information of the scanned personal information media. A printing unit(23) prints the read-out video information on a card. A controller(11) controls the issuing process of the card. An image signal processor (21a) reads the photo information of the personal information media. A character signal processing unit (21b) reads the personal information of the personal information media. An input unit(12) receives a card issue command, and all kinds of additional information, and an operation command. A display unit(13) displays an operating menu, an operation state, and a card issue screen. A communications module(15) performs communications with a finance host in order to enforce all kinds of financial transactions. |
