PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and process for transporting a sample plate to an analyzer, minimizing the time required for sequentially transporting the sample plates to a sample analytical spot. SOLUTION: This invention provides an apparatus and process for transporting sample plates to the analyzer. One sample plate is transported to the sample plate on an entry path to the analyzer, and another sample plate is simultaneously detached from the analyzer. On completion of analyzing the sample on the first sample plate arranged in the analyzer, the first sample plate is moved from the analyzer in an exit path, and the exit path is vertically spaced from the entry path to the analyzer.
