<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately diagnose abnormality of a passenger conveyor by gathering operation noise of the passenger conveyor without including disturbance noise and diagnosing based on the gathered operation noise of the passenger conveyor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: With timing estimating that disturbance noise except operation noise of an escalator is a standard level or less such as in starting and stop of the escalator and in stop thereof with automatic operation and waiting operation thereof at a low speed, a CPU 21 of a monitor device 20 makes a sound gathering device 17 gather operation noise of the escalator and makes a build-in memory 22 store the sound data.
