PRODUCTION OF LITHIUM MANGANESE MULTIPLE OXIDE FOR NON- AQUEOUS LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY, AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a lithium-manganese multiple oxide useful for producing a non-aqueous lithium secondary battery excellent in cycle characteristic. SOLUTION: This lithium-manganese multiple oxide is obtained by wet-mixing a lithium source and γ-MnO2, which is obtained by reacting a mixture of a manganese carbonate and/or manganese sulfate and an acid with an oxidant, and then after drying the obtained slurry, disintegrating it, subjecting the disintegrated material to primary firing at 300 to 500 deg.C, cooling to a temp. of <=45 deg.C, again disintegrating and subjecting the disintegrated material to secondary firing at 600 to 800 deg.C.
