PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device which can maintain the water repellent effect of a water repellent surface for the long term.SOLUTION: A medical device has a surface at least part of which is a water repellent surface. The water repellent surface comprises a surface of a coating layer or a substrate layer. The coating layer or substrate layer constituting the water repellent surface contains a fluorine-containing polymer. An average interval Sm between irregularities on the water repellent surface defined by JIS B0601:1994 is more than 5 μm and less than 45 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
