摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject refractory simultaneously satisfying lightening and shrinkage prevention at the time of construction by adding an alumina fine powder having an average particle diameter with a specific value or less within a specific proportion range expressed in outer percentage, and a proper amount of a binder to a formulation consisting of a fire clay within a specific proportion range, and the remainder of a size-controlled fireproof aggregate containing a light-weight aggregate. SOLUTION: The content of the fire clay is 15-40 wt.%. The alumina fine powder has <=10 &mu;m average particle diameter, and the content thereof is 5-20 wt.%. The proper content of the binder is 1-10 wt.% expressed in outer percentage based on the amount of the formulation, and optionally an adhesive of 0.1-3 wt.% is formulated therewith. The light weight aggregate is a hollow alumina, a light weight chamotte, perlite or the like, and the fireproof aggregate is an alumina, a mullite, the light weight chamotte or the like. The ratio of the amount of the light weight fireproof aggregate to that of the fireproof aggregate is preferably (20:80)-(60:40). Aluminum sulfate and a ligninsulfonic acid salt are effective as the binder in the combination of a fire clay with the alumina having <=10 &mu;m particle diameter, and can impart the adhesion rate, plasticity and coking properties.
