The invention relates to a process for refining ostrich oil with application in pharmaceutical industry. According to the invention, the process consists in neutralizing the oil with alkaline solutions with a concentration of 10...15% or a sodium silicate solution, drying the oil, free of impurities, by heating it to a temperature of 80...110°C, under vacuum or nitrogen atmosphere, then adding, while stirring, first 1...5% acid-activated bentonite, and, further on, base-activated bentonite, after each addition maintaining the same conditions for 10 min, then the resulting bleached oil is separated by bentonite filtration, after which there is injected the pure vapour heated to a temperature of 175...210°C, under a vacuum of 2...4 mmHg, wherefrom there results an odorless refined product. |
