PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate insertion/drawing work of a foot pin from outside a vehicle without removing a side cover attached to a side surface of the foot pin. SOLUTION: There is provided a boom mounting apparatus for a hydraulic excavator which has a boom 18 detachably mounted on a revolving frame 3 rotatively arranged on a lower traveling body, by means of a foot pin 11, and a side cover 13 covering mounted equipment such as a tank and equipment arranged on a side portion of the foot pin 11. A space in which no mounted equipment is arranged is provided on an extension of an axial line of the foot pin 11. Further, an opening 14 having a size in which at least the foot pin 11 can be inserted is formed in a portion of a side cover 13, which portion is on the extension of the axial line. The opening 14 may have a predetermined size in which inspection and/or maintenance of the mounted equipment can be performed. |
