Spring driven shuttle pickers for looms with - two sided weft insertion

The shuttle picker is wound by a lifting disc via a toggle support joint (1). To wind up the drive spring, (1) is adjusted to a pre-dead centre position approaching stress position and maintained in this position by a picker release. Spec. (1) is maintained in the above position for at least half a rotation of the main loom beam. Two pickers are used whose springs are wound simultaneously. (1) on the weft-less loom side can be removed from the action of the lifting disc.
