The present invention is concerned with the alpha -isomer of the decanoic acid ester of 10-[3-(4-hydroxyethyl-1-piperazinyl)propylidene]-2-trifluoroemethyl thiaxanthene, the non-toxic acid addition salts thereof, methods of preparing the same, therapeutic compositions thereof having prolonged effect, and a method of treating psychotic patients therewith.
