<p>1290437 Extruded nets; laminates NETLON INTERNATIONAL Ltd 19 April 1971 [10 April 1970] 17185/70 Headings B5A and B5N [Also in Divisions D1-D2] An extruded plastics net comprises strands 2, 3 of the two outer layers which cross one another at right-angles without being joined there, the layers being only joined indirectly via a third layer of strands 4, which are bonded to the inner sides of the outer strands. The outer layer strands are extruded by die slots or bores 25, 26 in circular die lips 20, 21, one of which is stationary whilst the other lip rotates at 2x r.p.m. Strands 4 are extruded by slots or bores 27 in lip 22, which rotates at x r.p.m. The rotating tubular net thus produced is cooled in water bath 6, fed on to mandrel 7 and slit parallel to strands 2 by rotating knife 10. The sheet 11 produced is drawn off the mandrel, stretched longitudinally to produce molecular orientation, collected on a reel, fed into a preheater and then stretched transversely. The net may be laminated between sheets of plastics film or paper.</p> |
